I love it when I’m struggling to come up with blog posts and then I remember – hey! Wednesday is coming up! That means I already know what I’m going to post that day! And since I already take pictures of just about everything I eat anyway (except the stuff that I don’t want to remember – if it’s not photographed, then it doesn’t count…right?), it’s a snap!
Is that a total blog cop-out? I hope not.
So, as usual, Jenn at peasandcrayons is hosting her weekly WIAW – and the month of June is all about snacks! (By the way…am I the only person who immediately says “Jenny and I was like peas and carrots again,” a la Forrest Gump, every time I see Jenn’s blog? Please say no.)
I have to be honest – this week was not so good for me, snacking wise. I think it’s because of my last week’s WIAW post, when I blathered on and on about how I don’t crave junky food or snacks since I started really focusing on eating paleo.
Tuh. That came back to bite me in the butt. I think it was largely because this weekend was spent with lots of family at my apartment, plus I went to a wedding that featured a taco bar as the main course…yeah. That may have had something to do with it.
But I enjoyed every. single. bite.
So, let’s take a look at some of the things I’ve been snacking on this week!
Classic almond butter packets by Justin’s. Sometime I eat them with fruit, but mostly I just eat them directly out of the packet for a quick protein pick-me-up. Awesome.
Darn you, Trader Joe’s! I wasn’t even looking for cheese when I found this little gem. You know what ‘tapas”’ means, right? It’s Spanish for I will eat the entire package in practically one sitting. Don’t agree? Go buy a package. I dare you.
Oh, look! Something healthy! I actually adore snap peas – I will eat them as is, by the handful. Ok, well, the ones in the picture I’d remove the stem and end, but you know what I mean.
Steve’s paleokits are a (you guessed it) paleo approved package of jerky, nuts, and berries. I usually can’t eat a whole thing for a snack, it’s too much, so I usually open one and then just snack on bits here and there until it’s gone. These are a great post workout snack – at least for me.
Yeah…this definitely happened.
So, there you have it! I also noshed on some unpictured items like raw veggies with my chipotle aioli, a red pear that really needed to get eaten, and my usual raw unsalted nuts. But nobody wants to see that stuff, right? We want to see cheese and sweet potato chips and beer!
Have I mentioned that Trader Joe’s is my downfall? I should stop going, but there’s one conveniently located across the street from my apartment.
Yeah.
LOVE Yuengling! We are not allowed it here in CT, something to do with old shipping laws that no one has ever bothered to either change or ignore.
that is so sad! yuengling is one of my favorites – i grew up within an hour of the actual brewery in PA 🙂
